Christ our Lord is risen today

Glory to Jesus’ name

Down on the cross

Where my Jesus died

Blood flowed from his hands and side

There to my heart was that same blood applied

Glory to His name

Not just my heart but applied from my head to my toe

Glory to his name

 

Jesus took my place in death

Glory to his name

The earth shook like a leaf

The skies blacked out

Tombs split open

The veil covering the Most Holy of Holies torn away

Glory to His name

 

Tears flowed like a never-ending fountain

Spices made for sealed tomb

But on the third day and since then

The tomb is empty

Christ our Lord is risen

Glory to His name

He rose triumphantly to save you and me

Glory to His name

 

Come to Him now

Let to your heart His blood be applied

Glory to His name

Salvation awaits

He is at the right hand of the Father pleading for us even now

Accept him my friend

Glory to His name.
