1 Corinthians 15:51-52
“…we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye….”

Have you ever experienced life interrupted? If you are like most people, you like predictability. But every once in a while you experience the unpredictable nature of life and your world is turned upside down. This unpredictablity can feel like walking off a cliff or walking on water. When this happens one can react in several ways. You can try to turn and run away from the change, you can go through the change cycle.. denial, shock etc, you can try to figure it out introspectively or all of the above and beyond. Whether we like it or not, when you least expect it change enters your life and you can’t turn back the clock . All you can do is to keeping moving forward.
Saul, aka, the apostle Paul experienced this life interrupting change. He was on his merry way to persecute the disciples of Jesus when all of a sudden this light from heaven struck him off his high horse. This experience challenged him to the core of his soul. This unexpected change transformed his vision literally and spiritually. This resulted in a chain reaction that interrupted Saul’s life but gave him a new name, direction and purpose. The book of Acts has the full low down.

What about you and I? When God enters our life unexpectedly, interrupts our plans and changes our vision & direction, what do we do? Do we stop to evaluate the why behind the change? How do we process this new thing God is doing in our lives? Are we willing to submit ourselves to God’s leadership letting him remove the scales from our eyes so that His name can be glorified? Or are we paralyzed by the change trying to return to the old state? What is God interrupting in our lives that we need to let go of so that he can guide us into new things ?

Absolute surrender leading to borderless trust in the Lord Jesus is the best thing we can do when He interrupts our lives. This surrender will lead us to eventually accept the change. This normally happens after evaluating the why, the what, and the how of the change. If not, we could find ourselves stuck without real purpose or direction.

Think on these things, repent of any shrinking back and move forward into the exciting interrupted new life God has for you. Come and see the new thing God is doing.

Prayer
Father, we are often scared when you interrupt our lives suddenly. This life interrupted forces us to come to terms with you and your new direction, purpose and vision for our lives. As we step out into the change give us your grace to submit and accept to the new thing you’ve for us. In Jesus name Amen.
