John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

Do you feel insignificant?  Do you feel that you don’t matter to anyone or to anything?  Are you wondering what your purpose is?  Do you feel like you are just wandering without any direction?

Well I am here to give you the wonderful news.

You are not insignificant. Say it after me ‘ I AM NOT INSIGNIFICANT’!  God asked me to tell you today that “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart (Jeremiah 1:5). God wants you to know that he has a specific purpose for you that no one else can fulfill.  So why are you downcast in your soul and why are you troubled in your spirit (Psalm 42:5)?  Throw yourself on the mercy of God and ask Him to recreate you in the form and likeness of Jesus Christ.  Like Isaiah, repent of the uncleanness of your land & people and the Lord will send heavenly cleansing so that you can go out to accomplish the mission that He has called you to.

Are you still feeling insignificant? Stop and take a look at the ants for a moment.  In the scheme of things they appear very small and insignificant.  Yet they are one of the most industrious set of workers you can find.  Just let one ant sting you and you will immediately find out how significant it is (laugh).

Our significance comes from God.  While we were yet sinners Christ died for us to bring us back into right relationship with God (Romans 5:8).  So next time you feel insignificant, call on the name of Jesus and your identity in Christ.

Take sometime today to write down all the things you are involved in, and then ask God to re-order your priorities.  Seek God in prayer and ask Him what in your life must be removed and what should be added.    Sometimes we feel insignificant because our lives are filled with lots of small meaningless things that fill up the spaces in our lives instead of being filled with what is critically important.  Psalm 34:15 reminds us that “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry”.  After being cleared of the clutter, ask the Holy Spirit of God to fill us so that we can be transformed into vessels of honour and bring others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER

Daddy we come to you, knowing that our significance comes from you.  For you loved us so much that you gave your Son Jesus for us so that we can have abundant life.  Give us the grace to live abundant and significant lives today. In the name of Jesus and for his sake, Amen.
