Proverbs 2:6-8

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Great Defender…Father God you are great defender from evil, war, inner turmoil, everything that would rise up against us, every weapon that would form against your people.

As leaders, oftentimes our focus is on the wrong things: those things that cause our worlds to shake, fearful things that scheme to bring us our knees cowing in surrender and fear. Rather than focusing on the God of the impossible,  instead like Peter when he was walking on the water  we put our focus on the storms and winds instead of Jesus who called him out of the boat and made the impossible possible.

BUT THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, THE GREAT I AM THAT I AM, YAHWEH, EL SHADDAI is OUR GREAT DEFENDER.  HE WAS,    IS     AND  IS TO COME. 

He knows our past, present and future and yet he still comes to our aid. This is the GREAT Defender that as leaders we can boldly come to and find grace in our time of need.  This GREAT defender grants true wisdom from above.  It is this God who understands what is happening both in the spiritual realms and the physical realms of the world around us.  The one who holds the universe in the palm of his hand yet humbles himself to come into our hearts.  This is the God who sees us, knows us and yet invites us to come to him for true wisdom based on a fullness of knowledge that we cannot comprehend:  “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what the Lord has in store for us” (1 Cor. 2: 9 ).  So let us as leaders in all realms and walks of life come before the throne of grace and seek to ABIDE in the presence of this Mighty King of kings…the Alpha the Omega the Beginning and the End.  Come and find grace in your time of need and watch as the Lord routes our enemies right before our eyes.

Sometimes he will tell us to stand still or wait and see and the lepers will bring the good news of our salvation. At other times he will tell us like Joshua to march around the walls for seven times and blow trumpets and shout while the captain of his royal army goes ahead with the sword of the Lord.  Still at other times like Gideon we will feel insignificant but go up with impossible numbers and come back victors.  The sun will stand still as we beseech him for mercy.  O I could go on and on…

Leaders, let us open our minds, hearts and spirits to God our Great Defender who grants true wisdom from above.  Praise the Lord.

PRAYER

Father earnestly we seek you as leaders in a dry and weary time where we need your Living water (Psalm 63).  People around us are empty and drawing from us.  Help us to be channels overflowing with your blessings instead of stagnant pools that only take in and never give out.  You are our GREAT DEFENDER so we look to you for our next move.  In the name of Jesus the Lion of Judah that breaks every chain.  Amen
