2 Peter 1:10

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election… Give diligence to make your calling and election sure.

WHAT ARE YOU CALLED TO DO?  What is your priority? Are you pursuing it with all your might and all the passion you have?  Have you sought to confirm your calling?   Are you diligently seeking God’s face to find out your gifting or are you just letting each day just pass by?  Are you operating in your gifting? Whether fulltime or part-time? Know that each day matters.

Jesus Christ made every effort to confirm his calling and his election by God to do the work.   He had purpose.  He made each day count as he healed the sick, spoke to the hopeless, raised the dead, fed, taught and sought out those on the margins like Zacchaeus and the Samaritan woman.  Because He spent time with God alone in prayer sometimes all night, sometimes early in the morning, he knew exactly how he should approach each day.  So at the end of His earthly ministry He was able to say “I have promoted the Kingdom of God and tore down the evil empire, I am done”.  So what about us?

Before you were born you were chosen by God to do a particular job. Psalm 139 speaks to the fact that all the days ordained for us were written in God’s book before one of them happened.  God has marked you out for salvation and specific works that only you can do with the passion and gifts He has given you.

Jesus has set the platform for you to operate on and is right now with you each step waiting to give you daily instructions of how to tear down the evil system and promote His agenda.  So get up, stand up and diligently make your calling and election sure and ensure that God’s will is done right here on earth, right now.

 So today, start pursuing God more than life itself, food, clothes, shelter, career, partner and He will add to you all that is necessary for your abundant living. 

Prayer

Daddy without you we are just existing not living abundantly.  We seek after you more than the created things you have made.  Confirm your calling on our lives so that we may seek to build up God’s Kingdom instead of our own agenda.  Keep us focused.  For Jesus sake.  Amen.
